I ended up buying a new laptop, an Apple MacBook Air which I love. The staff was helpful and knew what they were doing and what they were talking about. The manager made sure to thank me before I left and contacted me later to see if I was satisfied with my purchase. This is definitely my go to place for computer needs and questions. They say we will call you by 7:00 Monday Night and let you know either way whats going on. Monday at 7:00 comes and goes no call. So I call them.well my tech is out. I say not a big deal just if you say you are going to call please do. We have now been with out our computer for a few days we are very anxious to know whats going on and can they fix it. He finally calls me back and says sorry he's been busy. I told him thats fine I totally understand but a call would have been nice. He says he'll try and get to it.ok. He calls back the next day whatever he tried first didn't work. He's going to order in a part and try that. I ask him if he thinks it'll work and he laughs and tells me not to get my hopes up. Thursday night we get the next call he says theres nothing he can do come get out computer we can discuss options. We go to get our computer there a HUGE a line. We just want our computer they can't fix. I think a worker picked up on our vibe and said if you just picking up I'll grab it for you. He can't find it!? They have to track down the tech and at which point we now have to talk to this guy. They keep trying to explain what they went through when we don't care we had already decided we have liked anything about this whole situation and we want another opinion but we listen. He is talking about sending it off and paying $1800 - we are like no thank you we want a second opinion and he is flippant and goes i wouldn't go with cut rate services.and I explain to him I am not talking about cut rate services I want some one to start over I want a second opinion on the ENTIRE THING. Then customer service guy was like is this your first time here? We said yes, he goes you don't seem to happy? I told him we weren't. We just want out computer what else do we need to do and he was like hold on I am not sure.another manager guy close by was like you're fine just go. WE COULD NOT GET OUT OF THERE FAST ENOUGH! THEN we go directly to Mac HQ on Manchester where we were treated politely and professionally and they fixed out computer for $60 and in 2 days. Mac HQ has my business for life and I will NEVER go back to Mico Center for anything. I feel fortunate to have a MC here in STL! Great prices and selection of computer parts. They have everything from shiny pre-built computers and laptops for non-technical consumers to all the goodies for the hardware geeks and gamers. Their Knowledge Bar reps are very technically savvy, but since it is a free service, be prepared to for a wait as they are in demand by every grandmother who can't log into her email. On the upside, your grandmother who can't get into her email has a place that can help! The build-your-own department is where MC really shines, IMO. The people there are super helpful and knowledgeable about compatibility and options when you decide to take the plunge and build your own custom PC. From processors, to ram, motherboards, and water cooling components, MC has it all. I don't usually write Yelp reviews, but I had to for Micro Center in Brentwood as I had a very negative experience with my repair there. Upon check in, I felt like my concerns were not taken seriously. I can't remember who my representative was, but it was an older gentleman. To be quite frank he came across as pretty apathetic and did not explain the check in/diagnostic process to me at all until I have half way through signing my forms. Then, this is a bit irrelevant to the repair, but when my debit card wouldn't swipe correctly upon check in, the same guy singled me out, had me call my bank (which is embarrassing enough when you are holding up the line), only to find out it was their card reader equipment causing the problem all along. If only we had tried another computer to complete the transaction in the first place (as I suggested) I wouldn't have felt already completely dissatisfied with my Micro center experience. The repair process was excruciating. I am a full time student in the middle of summer classes, the guy I checked my computer in with said it would be a quick fix. Micro center's model of assigning a single tech to your device throughout the entire repair process is NOT SUSTAINABLE. My 'tech' only worked half the week. I didn't even know what was wrong with my computer until it had already been in their possession for a week and a half! When I finally got my tech on the phone (a whole other challenge) he informed me it was a quick internal cord replacement that would be done in 30 minutes (and honestly something I definitely could have done myself for a lot cheaper had I known anything about computers). And of course he left his shift early that day or something and I wasn't able to pick it up until the next time he worked another few days later. Sure I'm an entitled college student, but being in the midst of summer session finals, I did not at all get a sense of urgency, never felt like I even had an opportunity to voice my concerns, sensed a general air of apathy and rudeness from the staff there, etc. At Micro Center. Not to mention my repair was $100+ for something that I probably could've done for $30, but that's besides the point. I have and will continue to warn many of my friends and fellow students from area universities about taking their devices there. I just got totally ripped off and I'm so upset. I will never shop there again and I will put on my blog and on my Facebook page that no one should ever buy anything from the Micro Center. They're just out to make money off of people and not provide good customer service. So less than three months ago I went in and purchased an HP printer for full price and I purchased the $49.99 2 year warranty. Well low and behold the printer is a piece of crap and so I took it in today to exchange it for another one and was informed that I'd have to pay an additional $49.99 to extend and get a new warranty. Are you kidding me? I already paid that. I asked to speak to the manager and was told tough luck and that's the way they do it. Why should I have to pay for a new warranty when I paid for the original one? I see no rhyme or reason aside from them just trying to make an extra 50 bucks off of me. Perhaps they should consider carrying a line of printers that actually work and I don't break. I might also say that while I was in line to other people also came in with HP printers that were faulty and returning them because they were no good. I'll never shop here again and I suggest you don't either. The first time I had my Mac serviced at Micro Center it was great. I had more memory added, no problem. So, when my Mac was slowing down I thought it might be a battery issue. I took it to Micro Center. My battery was replaced, but I was told, 'Yeah, probably is the issue.' It took four hours. I watched the tech after three hours of waiting and saw he had his hand over the top of my Mac and was messing around the back corner. Odd place for a battery replacement. He kept leaving and returning for some odd reason. When I took it home the top wouldn't stay in place. This wasn't right, but I thought Micro Center was full of 'professionals.' Sometime later a girlfriend of mine said, 'They BROKE your laptop!' It never occurred to me that they would do such a thing. Recently, when my laptop wouldn't charge, I took my Mac to a different service store for possible repair. One, when I described the battery issue to this employee, he gave me a strange look. He said, 'A slow Mac is not an indication of a bad battery.' I was duped into replacing my 'good' battery for an issue not related to a slow Mac. Second, the employee asked me if I wanted my Mac to be looked at and if it was just a loose screw, he would tighten it for free. I said, yes please. He looked at it and it was a much larger problem. After further investigation it turned out that the screw was broken in half and in all the 20 years of working in the field he has never ever seen anything like this before. The entire top half of the screw was broken off and nothing was holding my top on to the bottom of the computer. He also said the fact that the employee at Micro Center was messing around the top of my Mac was odd considering that had nothing to do with the area of the battery. The tech who replaced my battery at Micro Center broke the screw in half and attempted to find some way of covering up the fact that he damaged my laptop. No wonder the top flopped around all this time! In the end I didn't need a battery replacement and he broke my laptop in the process. My girlfriend WAS correct! I will never go back to Micro Center ever again. One bad employee does ruin the whole experience because you never know who you will get and it could be that one bad one who is going to drop your laptop or over tighten the screw with an electric drill or however he broke it and charge you for something you never needed in the first place a new battery which was not the cause of the slow down in the first place! Five stars for the first employee who installed the extra memory which I did need and minus five stars for the second employee who gouged me for the battery I didn't need and for breaking my laptop. Two stars over all, One thing for sure, I will never ever be going back there ever again for anything, not even for a pen. I always like going to Micro Center. To me, it's the best computer store around. The only thing that comes close to competing is Fry's, which is not in this part of the country, but Micro Center is physically nicer. Anyway, at this store, you can get anything you need for your computer. I went there recently to pick up a new hard drive for my computer. They had larger hard drives for less than Best Buy, and unlike BB, they actually had them in stock. They have tons of things you can use to upgrade your computer or to build your own from scratch. They also have any kind of accessory you could possibly need - mice, keyboards, cables, ink, you name it. They also sell whole computers; it's where I got mine. When they didn't have exactly what I wanted, they offered to sell me something close then add the extra stuff I needed, and all in less than an hour! In addition to all the computer stuff, they also have some camera gear, headphones, computer games and books and some other things. If you go, make sure you get on their mailing list. Every so often they will give you a coupon for a free memory card or thumb drive. Most recently I got a free 32 GB thumb drive. If you need anything for your computer, I recommend checking out Micro Center. I used to enjoy coming here and I do IF it is not for a return. There is usually only one employee at the return desk. Friendly though they may be if it takes my lunch hour to return something it just isn't worth my time. They have become big sellers of underwhelming monitors and over priced accessories. I had gone in to price match NewEgg (what they advertise in the store) with something. On their website it said to check store for inventory. So I called and waited and waited and waited, Decided to burn some time and head down. Not only did they not have it was told that if they special ordered it they would not price match. So, ordering it basically online at MC was going to be more costly than NewEgg. Oh well, off to the Internets for me. I think MC has outlived it usefulness for me. I find enough bits and pieces online and have not run across where I need something NOW. Well, this place is a catch 22. The changeover involves certain preparatory steps, and therefore new Customizing settings. The steps required for the changeover are set out below in summary form. But for tracing data generation or checking data consistency as your debuggee runs, a script is the better tool. The classical example is an internal table with nested objects whose attributes you want to check. A script can read those nested attributes row by row, check or trace them as you wish, and even stop execution if something goes wrong. Another way to debug SAP script is to execute the standard program RSTXDBUG. And we shall have the similar screen for activate debugger. • Program (interactive) tools for standard tasks, such as checking data consistency, changing variable values to test error handling, and so on.A lot of script programming is quick ad hoc work right in the debugger to help you with some analytical or data collection problem.But ABAP Debugger Scripting also lets you save scripts for re-use. You can develop tools or utilities for debugging to suit your special needs, and you can share these scripts with others on the same or on other ABAP Systems. An ABAP script is simply a local ABAP Objects program that is run by the New ABAP Debugger. The script uses the ADI – ABAP Debugger Interface – to automate actions that you otherwise might perform by hand in the debugger – and to add capabilities that otherwise would not be available to you. ABAP scripts take advantage of the two-process debugging infrastructure that SAP introduced in NetWeaver NW04s (7.0). Of course, what you can do with a debugger script is limited only by your requirements and imagination. But the point of ABAP Debugger Scripting is to increase your efficiency in analyzing and solving problems with the New ABAP Debugger. So the Debugger Script workplace includes a small selection of ready-to-run scripts (the Script Overview button in Load Script) that you can either use directly or modify for your own purposes. And there is also a script wizard for writing your own scripts (or modifying ready-to-run scripts). The wizard lets you insert method calls to debugger services in your script. See the weblog on advanced scripts for more information.) The Debugger Script Desktop Here is what you see when you start a program in the New ABAP Debugger and then click on the very last Debugger Tool tab: Script. As you can see, the source code editor is open so that you can edit a standard script template. You can use any standard ABAP OO statements and constructs that you wish. Plus you can use the method calls from the Script Wizard; these let you make use of the services of the New ABAP Debugger. (See the weblog on advanced scripts). You can load a script from the library or from a collection of your own scripts (use a naming convention, so that you can find them again). You can easily move scripts between systems by downloading them to file and then uploading them again. To the left of the editor, you can specify when the ABAP Debugger should run the script – for example, after every single execution step in the debugger. The Trigger options have the following meanings: • Execute directly: If you mark this option, the script runs only if you press the Start Script button. The debugger does not run the script automatically. This is the right option if you are using a script for a single specific task, like dumping the data from a complex data source to a trace. • After Debugger Events – Debugger Single Step: Once you tell the debugger to run the script (with Start Script), then the debugger automatically runs the script after every debugger single step (F5 – Single Step in manual debugging). After every statement is executed by the debugger, the script runs again. This is the Trigger setting for a full statement-level trace of execution. • After Debugger Events – Breakpoint Reached, Watchpoint Reached: With these options, the debugger runs the script every time a breakpoint or watchpoint is reached.Important: The script runs only when the debugger reaches breakpoints and watchpoints defined here, in the context of the script. If you check one of these Trigger options, an icon appears that allows you to define breakpoints and/or watchpoints for triggering the script. The script does not run at breakpoints or watchpoints that you may have set separately, in the source code editor, for example. This arrangement lets you separate breakpoints or watchpoints that are to trigger the script from those that you set for your own use in the debugger. At the bottom of the screen (not shown in the screen shot) is the Display Last Trace frame. After your script has stopped running, you can use the buttons in this frame to display the trace (if any) created by the script. Your First Script: A Complete Trace of Executed Statements The ABAP Runtime Analysis (transaction SAT) can trace almost to the level of all executed statements. But before ABAP scripting, you had to step through a program yourself in the debugger to see exactly what a program does. Here’s how to create a complete trace of executed statements using ABAP Debugger Scripts. • Start a program in the New ABAP Debugger. It’s immaterial how you reach the debugger – by breakpoint, /h ok-code – you can start a debugger script from any point in a program’s execution. • Click on the very last Debugger Tool tab: Script. • Click on the Load Script button and then on the Overview of Debugger Scripts icon. • On the list of ready-to-run predefined scripts, open the Traces folder and double-click on the last script, RSTPDA_SCRIPT_STATEMENT_TRACE.The script is inserted into the script editor – it’s ready to run. You’ll notice that the predefined script has also set the Trigger frame correctly. Trigger tells the New ABAP Debugger to run the script after each debugger single step (an F5 key press, in interactive use of the Debugger). • Tell the New ABAP Debugger to run the script by clicking on the Start Script button.What happens? The New ABAP Debugger runs the program that you are debugging to the next breakpoint (including a stop required by Layer-Aware Debugging) or until control returns to the program. It’s as if you had pressed the F8 Continue button on the debugger tool bar.At each single-step that the debugger makes, it runs the RSTPDA_SCRIPT_STATEMENT_TRACE script. The script writes each debuggee-statement that is to be executed to a log. If the program is long, you will notice the trace activity in the form of extra waiting time. For that reason, you may want to run the trace script only between two breakpoints or in conjunction with layer-aware debugging. Set breakpoints around the code that especially interests you. Start the script at the first breakpoint. Stop the script and look at the trace when you reach the second breakpoint. • Tell the New ABAP Debugger to stop running the script so that you can take a look at the trace.If you have arrived at the next breakpoint, then the debugger has control. You can tell the debugger to keep running the script or to stop running the script directly. If control has returned to the program that you are debugging, at screen output for example, then you need to return control to the debugger so that you can stop the script. The debugger returns to the foreground, and you can click on Exit Script or Continue Script. • Display the trace in the debugger session or in an internal session by clicking on Display or Start Analysis in New Session.The trace shows every statement that the debugger executed. A double-click on a line lets you jump into the source code to see the statement in context. • Click on F8 Continue to run the debugger further and return control to the debuggee. Bonus: Your Second Script – Finding Out Where Particular Statements Occur Perhaps you want to find out where AUTHORITY-CHECK statements are executed, so that you can ask a customer for the required authorizations for debugging a problem. Or perhaps you want to see where your program is selecting data from the database. With the statement trace script, these tasks are easy to accomplish. Proceed by doing the following: • Load the RSTPDA_SCRIPT_STATEMENT_TRACE as shown above in steps 1 through 4. • Change the Trigger setting from Debugger Single Step to Breakpoint Reached. Click on the Change button, which has appeared next to Breakpoint Reached. • Create a breakpoint for the SELECT statement, or the AUTHORITY-CHECK statement, or any other statement you would like to trace. • Run the script and take a look at the result, as shown above as of step 6. As you can see, you can quickly modify a standard script to perform special tasks in the debugger. I had to poke around to find out what NetWeaver Release is under ECC6. I’m afraid that it may not necessarily be the NetWeaver 702 EHP2 release that you need for the new debugger and for scripting. Under one consolidation system for ECC6 I found 700, under another NW 701. So, first check that you have an adequate NW release. Choose System -> Status from any SAPGUI screen and double-click on the component version field to open the table of installed components. Look for the SAP_BASIS component and check whether 702 or higher is shown in the Release field. If yes, you’re golden. Then, make sure that you have the new debugger switched on. In SE80, open Menu Utility > Settings and switch to the ABAP Editor tab, and within that, to the debugging tab. There, you can choose between the classic and the new debugger. You need the new debugger, of course. Finally, with the debugger running, make sure that you scroll the tab strip all the way to the right. I’m afraid I don’t know if the upgrade from 701 to 702 EhP2 is allowed for ECC6. If it’s possible to do the upgrade, then there is a lot to speak for it from the NW side – it’s the most significant ABAP release in years – with the new debugger, a great many advances in the ABAP language itself, and a lot of progress is SE80 and the ABAP editor. So via SCC4 you have to allow changes to repository objects. It could also be you have to set modify options for namespaces and components. At least I had to do this if wanted to edit a script in “test” or “production” system. If you think about it I guess it is risk to allow any code to be created in a debug script if it is not controlled similar to other ABAP objects. I will herein be with you to call black a black and white a white. No Bluffs and No frills. I live in Indonesia and last few days I made a survey by talking to many E63 and E71 users. Nobody exactly knows the reason they pick their particular model. Most of the users just followed their friends. The simple answer was 'MY FRIEND HAS E63 AND HE OR SHE IS VERY HAPPY WITH IT, SO I ALSO BOUGHT E63' On asking the same question to E71 user the most common reply was ' E71 IS A EXPENSIVE GADGET AND IT LOOKS COOL. I FEEL VERY RICH WHEN I USE IT. MY FRIENDS A JEALOUS OF ME AND WANT TO COPY ME AND BUY THE SAME PHONE. THIS IS A BEST PHONE MAN. I used same operator sim cards on both E63 and E71. I did streaming videos on you tube. Tried skype, Live messenger, web browsing. Here are my findings - 1) You tube streaming results were same. Maybe the operator speed limits are not yet set for 3,5G. How to activate the gprs of my nokia n71-1 china phone - Nokia E71 Smartphone question. Avoid: oem software, old version, warez, serial, torrent, keygen, crack of Nokia E71 Torch Light Free Download. Consider: Nokia E71 Torch Light Free Download full version, full download, premium download, licensed copy. But I found one shocking fact. I streamed both phones for 3 minutes and 23 secs. EXACTLY 3 minutes and 23 secs. Since both my sim cards are based on prepaid plan, I could check the amount of money I paid. 3,5G on E71 costed me 20% more amount of money. I will find it out with my operator. 2) Web browsing speed on E71 was slightly faster. The pages loaded a bit faster on E71 than E63. So here 3,5G worked very well. But mind it, E63 was never lagging. It was slower definitely but never too slow. 3) Live messenger chatting etc no difference whatsoever. NO DIFFERENCE AT ALL. 4) I downloaded Google, Fring, Snaptu, and various other utilities. Here the download speed of E71 was noticibly faster. Yes, its true. E71 was much faster when it comes to application download speed. 5)GPS on E71 was okay. I have recently used E52. I found E71 GPS very slow when compared to new phones from Nokia like E52. Even my N82 was faster when it comes to GPS. E63 does not have A GPS. So no comparision here. As I mentioned in my earlier posts E71 wins as a business messenger phone but looses out to E63 in Multimedia features. But again, I must say Nokia E63 is never lagging in speed when it comes to Messaging, web browsing or other capabilities. It is a neck to neck performance and E71 wins by fraction of seconds. I would say a few words more - Nokia E71 looks excellent but pay more and get less. Nokia E63 looks great pay less and get more. Enjoy yourself friends. • Rating 0| • •. The reason being, it occured to my mind maybe the handset I tried had faulty configuration or any kind of hardware or software problem. Because whatever I say about E63 I cannot let go the looks and feel of E71. It looks the cutest device on earth. Afterall there are hundreds of thousands of satisfied E71 users. So I have made further detailed studies about E71. My final conclusion- E71 proved to be a great gadget when it comes to emailing, web browsing, connectivity options (even though infrared port is outdated, still it has been included in E71 creating more options for transfer and receiving of data). And I am so sad to say this device only stay a winner in Messaging environment. If you are a workholic and spend most of your time in communication than this is definitely a device made for you. Camera again was a dissapointment. So I was right. Whatever a few of E71 fans say about E71 they cannot change a fact that the camera optics included in E71 have a faulty performance. I tried in everyway to click a good picture but failed. I dont agree to one of anonymous surfer saying that you have to be a pro to click a picture when you are using a camera phone. I have used best camera phones like SE K800i, K810i, N73music, N82, N95, Samsung i8510 Innov8 and moderate camera phones on E series like E51, E61i, E63 but never came across such a horrible camera. One of the surfer signed as Anonymous said very correctly THE MACHINE CHOOSES ITS MAN. E71 will definitely choose someone who is a workholic and love to beautiful looks of E71. Sound quality from speaker was okay but not a good as E63. But through headphones E63 is no match. I tried using adopter (3.5mm to 2.5mm) and tried my Sennheiser headphones on E71 but sound quality was below average. So E71 is purely NO MULTIMEDIA PLEASE WORK ONLY. So all in all if you need a device that can do only messaging and web browsing for you than go for E71. Looks great but it is definitely scratch prone, no matter what leather case, or silicon case or plastic case you use. As mentioned in my last post NOKIA SHOULD HAVE USED BRUSHED METAL AND NOT GLOSSY METAL WHICH IS FINGERPRINT AND SCRATCH PRONE. Now whatever capability you get on E71, I mean communication ability (whatelse do you expect from E71), E63 is a fantastic device which has the same capability of communication As E63 has a larger keyboard and a winner in key placements. (the same format you will find in E72. E63 can be called a messenger device with multimedia features as add on for those who like to work and play. And you will pay less to get it. The only thing lacking in E63 is GPS and 3.5G (E63 uses only 3G). There are many who will need them and will get them on E71 and there are people who will let go of these features and choose E63 as a Economical option. Camera on E63 is the same camera included with E61i and E51. It is average and much better than E71. E63 have additional tool, a Flashlight. This I think is a must for day to day emergency needs. Nokia have also included this feature in E72. Now it seems I have to let go of my E71 again. I will stick to E63. I know that most of E71 fans will never agree that E63 is a better device but if I could have changed it. We can only expect E72 which is realising next week has a much better performance and we can again get a full featured handset with great looks without any faulty configuration. You can go through the comments and raise questions if you have any doubts about improving the the funtionality of your phone. You seems to be bothered to read about my comments about 3.5mm jack and torchlight because it is missing in your phone. But you failed to read why I posted my comments. These comments are for those you have not yet bought E71 and they have right to know about views of people who have used this unit. It ia not a compulsion to agree with anyones experience. But if they can get a few hints about the handset they can decide correctly which model to go for. So stop screaming and enjoy your E71. If you want to improve the funtionality of your phone raise questions. I will be more than happy to help you. Afterall software, processor, physique of E63 and E71 is same. Whatever software will work on E63 will definitely work on E71 too. So my dear brother. Be nice to people and they will be nice to you. You dont have to scream to prove the superiority of your phone. I mean keys are a bit bigger and positioning horizontal and vertical is 99.99% similar to E63. E71 keys are tiny and raised upwards to give a tacticle feel. However finally E63 keyboard wins the race. Also with E72 is included 3.5mm jack and torch. Rest all features as I explained if you need 3.5G and GPS you may choose E71. But my dear Wak kang friend, to open up your eyes I want to divert your attention towards Blackberry BOLD 9000. YES YES now you will start thinking. This model is a super hit all over the world. WILL YOU ATLEAST AGREE THAT BLACKBERRY BOLD IS A BUSINESS PHONE. Now, Blackberry Bold 9000 does have 3.5mm jack. It does have a much better camera than E71. It does come with software capability to play divx files. Now you ask yourself why the hell does a business phone have those multimedia features.
